GAS CONDENSATE

Description

Condensate is a liquid hydrocarbon stream that consists of pentane and heavier hydrocarbons and has a low sulfur content , and almost 60% of it is naphtha (a valuable intermediate product for the production of gasoline and feed for basic and mother units) petrochemical industry) and 30% is oil and gas . Gas condensate is one of the valuable products extracted from gas reservoirs and its price is slightly higher than the price of crude oil in the world markets.
In the existing definitions, gas condensate is usually defined with different terms according to the source and percentage composition of different hydrocarbons in it, such as;

▪️ Plant Condensate

▪️ Pentanes Plus

▪️ Natural gasoline

As mentioned, there are various sources for the production of gas condensate. 5 and 6 carbon and heavier cuts make up the majority of the gas condensate percentage. Gas refineries and liquefied natural gas (NGL) plants are the main source of supply of the aforementioned cuts. In fact, in gas fields, in the first stage, heavy compounds are separated from light ones, and the heavy compounds, which are also in the liquid phase, are supplied to the consumer market as gas condensate (Plant Condensate). Compared to crude oil, the variety and amount of polluting compounds in gas condensate is less (metals and nitrate and sulfur compounds), so this issue has caused the cost of processing gas condensate to be lower compared to crude oil.
